The Cycle Wars

OH! Elementary, what a time those years where!
Here's a little look into my past, it's honestly one of the memories that stuck with me the most.
I don’t know how you guys felt or thought about your elementary school days, but I hope you guys had a fun and enjoyable time. I remember in my elementary school, it started with kinder then onto First Grade then on to Second and so on and we were also placed in cycles, from cycle A through cycle D, I don’t know if anyone else had that? But, I basically grew along side those who were with me in Cycle A just at random times there would be a new kid here and there or some would switch over to a different cycle. Although, during the time we were all practically in the same grade just different cycles, when a change would happen everyone would always want to check out the new kid -as if that's not normal - but mostly, it was the little "popular kids" that wanted to make sure the new commers were Cycle A worthy and if it worked out they were approved and became part of their group. The funny yet sad thing about that is how social status really happens and appears at such a young age- I work with kids and even now I can see it, although there's a BIG difference now then it was THEN. I have no idea, but as little kids I've always thought that most of everyone shared the same thoughts or feelings— well, with some exceptions, but obviously lived in their own little words, where they thought themselves the top kid, boss, you know what I mean— fun fact: that is also known as super ego, during child development at a certain age, but every kids is different.
When it came to walking the halls or anything, just like the school field trips when you saw kids from another school, it was War. Each cycle thought they were better then the other, always repping or chanting “CYCLE __ IS BETTER!” “LOSERS!” The occasional flips offs and what not, it was chaos in a childish way. I just remember walking by those kids chanting about and thinking how ridiculous and stupid they looked. BUT, I do admit it was also funny to see at times cause they would take it SO serious and for WHAT??? We were just kids.
Do you remember all the childish things people did around you during elementary? Do you remember what you felt? Oh! And who could forget the silly festivities and plays or events that occurred! Those where the times most of the little wars would happen. Each class or cycle would have to perform something as a class in one of the events. Oh boy! Thinking back now, I can CLEARLY remember how everything went, I remember seeing the group of little boys from class D getting ready to “throw down” with Cycle B kids, inside the “spiderweb”— some jungle gym thing that was more of a dome like mixed with monkey bars—as we called it. It was so silly to see them cause they ALL looked the SAME, wearing the same uniform of navy-blue pants and white collard polos, all tiny little figures. My favorite part was watching them act silly and chanting and screaming their class letter, and before you know it they all began charging at one another –As they do in war movies or like in a concert during a wall of death— and “fighting”, those fights always ended with few of them crying, someone with a bloody nose, others running away or others standing awkwardly, someone looking for a teacher or adult. It was ridiculous. I hardly enjoyed these events or ever wanted to come to them, but I was stuck attending since my class always performed. but hey! at least I got to see some entertainment.
I always thought it was funny how each cycle thought themselves better then the other, just because of our class letter but in reality we were all the same, learning the same subjects, same uniforms, just different bungalows. Oh those elementary days, sure was an interesting time but also not a favorite memory of mine, only when there was good moments at least.
Before I go, I GUESS Cycle A was cool LMAO.
